In connection to a research project concerning analysis and optimization of WPC compounding a new ECON laboratory under water pelletizing system has been installed at the university for plastics technology in Paderborn, Germany.

The already existing strand pelletizer were not able to produce valueable pellets, since highly filled compounds caused breaks at the strand. Compounds with low filled level sticked together being processed on a die face cutter.
That is why the under water pelletizing system has been implemented in the university's laboratory equipment, because it is now possible to process both, higly or low filled compounds with a valuable outcome.
